Who I Am

I help professionals develop clear, confident English.

I'm Helen, a UK qualified solicitor and have worked in the legal field for over 25 years. Clear communication has always been central to my professional life, and over time I found myself increasingly drawn to teaching.

In 2020 I completed a Masters in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at the University of Sunderland. Since then, I have been teaching English to professionals from a wide range of backgrounds, both online and in-company.

I began working with an international ESL provider, gaining extensive experience teaching both adults and young learners. After moving to the Netherlands in 2020, I specialised in business and legal English and I have worked with several well-known Dutch language institutions, such as Elycio Talen, Talen Instituut, and Language Partner.

My legal and professional background allows me to understand the communication challenges professionals face in international environments. I bring that experience into my teaching to help learners develop clear, confident English that works in real, professional situations.

I am a native English speaker, hold a degree in sociology, and am CRKBO registered. Living in the Netherlands I am also learning Dutch myself, which keeps me closely connected to the experience of learning and using another language.
